3 TIPS FOR WRITING TOP RATED ARTICLES: Article Marketing is Hot Again

Article by Article Marketing SEO

Yes, Article Marketing is hot again.

And the reason is simple: Google loves original content!

For a while, article marketing became overrun by all those other SEO strategies. Putting second rate written text on your site through automation software or a so-called robot. Joining Social Media such as Facebook and Twitter. Link sharing — they told you it was all about backlinks. Online industry hubs. Google Local. Flash — lots of flash. Site Statistics: tracking visitor patterns and traffic entry pages.

And they worked and still work — to a degree (except for the article marketing robot, which belongs on the junk pile).

But then Google made its big announcement about Article Spinning: “This update is designed to reduce rankings for low-quality sites–sites which are low-value add for users, copy content from other websites or sites that are just not very useful. At the same time, it will provide better rankings for high-quality sites–sites with original content and information such as research, in-depth reports, thoughtful analysis and so on.” Suddenly second rate written content was being penalized. Some websites went from a Google Page Rank of 5 to a PR of 1 or zero.

So now again it’s all about copywriting for search engine spiders and engaging content for real people (that is, customers with active credit cards!), both local and international.

It’s all back to optimizing your website’s content with keywords, phrases and meta data.

And, most of all, it’s all about ORIGINAL CONTENT.

Nothing wrong with that at all if you are a creative writer.

Here are Three Article Marketing Tips for creating a Hot Article:

1. TITLE: Above all else, it’s about your title. Sure, you want at least one keyword in it if possible. But most of all, you need to catch the attention of real human beings. Be creative. Unusual. Look for a word, phrase or concept that is brand new. Look at the hottest topics in today’s news, sports and entertainment. What excites you? What is there that interests a fair percentage of the public — and interests you? Today, it’s the Title that is the narrative hook. They are either captured by your title — or they move on.

2. YOUR NAME. OK, we’re all stuck with our name. Doesn’t mean that you can’t do a bit of creative name changing. For instance, if your name is Stephen King, you learned long ago that you had to change your name somehow — as far as Google is concerned, there is only ONE Stephen King. Rethink your Site Name — and use THAT as your author name. For instance, “Hugazombie” is listed as #13 in Goarticles’ Top Authors, even though he only posted one article — compared to Author #19, who wrote 2486 articles and Author #26, who wrote 3128 articles. If you can’t beat ‘em, hug a Zombie!

3. CREATIVE CONTENT. Don’t just rehash what everybody else is saying about your subject. Unless you are writing a technical or medical article, where authority and references are essential, you can engage in your emotions. What excites you? What do you love? What do you hate?

It’s easy, of course, to write articles that dis someone — the internet is full of hateful, lowbrow postings. Racism and sexism abound. Some of these people actually think they are writing comedy.

But if you can write an upbeat, helpful article, you are immediately a head above most of the web-based crowd. Especially if you are trying to attract readers who might click on one of your sales links…

In today’s highly competitive Internet marketplace, affiliate article marketing or internet marketing articles written to pull traffic to your own affiliate-rich site can give you the tools you need to capture attention, get visitors excited and involved, and ultimately lead them to take your desired action (make a purchase, fill out your inquiry form, sign up for your newsletter, etc.). http://www.brianalanburhoe.com

By creating and posting articles, you are creating and distributing virtual salespeople for your Internet business – and this can have a tremendous impact on your sales. Whether you are marketing your unique products or services, or involved in programs such as Clickbank or Google Affiliate Network, you need the traffic.

And today a new format is the ebook. By taking your most popular articles and collecting them in an ebook, you are increasing the value of those articles. You can then either offer the ebook as a book for sale — or as an item that can be downloaded for free (containing plenty of links back to your website).
